Without further delay, let’s take a closer look at an exciting new naval addition from this region!
ROKS FD 8000 is one of the most advanced destroyer concepts developed in South Korea. It combines cutting-edge reconnaissance systems and digital technologies that make operating the ship efficient and user-friendly. The latest propulsion systems ensure not only high reliability but also excellent seaworthiness. Special attention was given to stealth in the hull design, while its powerful armament allows the ship to quickly and effectively engage enemy targets.
Armament
- Missile Battery (ASM) — Hycore [x3]
- Missile Battery (ASM) — RIM-174 (SM-6) [x2]
- Cannon — FD-Railgun (127 mm) [x1]🔒
- Grenade launcher — KSAM MLRS [x2]🔒
- Helicopter — KAI-LAH-2 [x1]🔒
- Autocannon — MFU-ASW [x2]🔒
- Air Defense — L-SAM-FD [x2]🔒
After reviewing the ship’s arsenal, it becomes clear that exposing yourself to an air raid or a massive missile strike is extremely risky. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to reserve one of the missile batteries for engaging aerial targets. The helicopter should not be overlooked either, as it can help defend the ship against incoming aircraft. In addition, it is equipped with hypersonic Sky Dragon K2 missiles featuring electronic counter-countermeasures and impressive damage output upon impact. The MFU-ASW autocannons demonstrate high effectiveness against enemy torpedoes, allowing you to worry less about underwater threats and focus more on countering surface dangers.
How to Play
The new Korean destroyer is ideal for players who prefer engaging from a distance, striking enemies with missiles and its main gun while staying away from the front line. If there is cover nearby, enemies will have a hard time: even relatively weak air defenses can repel small to medium missile barrages, while the autocannons reliably intercept a significant portion of incoming torpedoes.
For those who enjoy a riskier approach, flanking raids are also a viable tactic—the ship boasts excellent speed and maneuverability. Try to identify enemies who have fallen behind their group and eliminate them as quickly as possible. The faster you act, the less damage your ship will sustain. At close range, with limited air defense capabilities, avoiding damage in a fast-paced engagement is nearly impossible.
Who is this destroyer for? Experienced captains will appreciate its long-range playstyle, while newcomers can gain valuable experience by learning combat mechanics and the nuances of its limited defensive systems. Ships that do not forgive mistakes teach their commanders to make decisions quickly and effectively.
