RF Burevestnik (Project 905) is coming soon
Very soon, the Soviet ekranoplan RF Burevestnik (Project 905) will sweep through the waters of Modern Warships (MW), capable of unleashing missile hell on everyone in its path!
The RF Burevestnik (Project 905) is a new-generation Soviet ekranoplan developed on the basis of the famous “Caspian Monster” (KM), this screen glider retains the key advantages of the original design - phenomenal speed and the ability to move stealthily over the water surface. The KM appeared in the 1970s as part of a Soviet program to develop high-speed combat vehicles that would use the screen effect to stealthily and quickly defeat ships of a likely enemy. The project was scrapped in the 1990s due to funding cuts, operational complexity and a shift in priorities towards conventional weapons, leaving behind only a few experimental vehicles.
Now let's get to know it better!

Armament:
1. P-700 Granit missile battery [2x1]
2. P-700 Granit missile battery [2x1]
3. P-700 Granit missile battery [2x1]
4. RBU-2500/2 (212 mm) grenade launcher [2x1]🔒
5. UKU-9K-502 BK air defence (23 mm) [1x1]🔒

At first glance, the arsenal of the ekranoplan is not exactly impressive in its variety of armaments. However, it should be noted that few ships in our game can boast a total of 6 missile batteries at once, and they are available for replacement with any other models, besides the already installed P-700 Granit. In addition, the ship is equipped with 2 powerful exclusive RBU-2500/2 grenade launchers. They can't be replaced, and there's no need to replace them - the combination of fast reloading and high damage can overwhelm other analogs in terms of effectiveness against torpedoes and submarines. And what about air defense? There is a spoonful of honey in the barrel of honey. The ship has just one UKU-9K-502 BK cannon air defense point, which has limited angles of application and is located aft. It more than successfully hits all targets in the rear hemisphere of the ship's defense, ensuring that you almost can not be so easily hit in the back by a missile or air strike, but in the front you are not protected by anything but your luck and skill in time to use air traps.

To summarize - what does the new ekranoplan represent in our game?
* * *
Pluses:
-Set of freely customizable 2x2x2 missile batteries
-The highest top speed in the game
-Powerful and fast reloading grenade launchers
Minus:
-Situationally effective air defense

The gameplay on RF Burevestnik in general completely repeats the experience that you can get right now in its analog on the 2nd dash of our game - RF Loon. Except that there are more missiles and grenade launchers. This shieldplane should not be used for frontal attacks - due to the low amount of strength and weak air defense, this first attack can be the last one with a high probability. However, unexpected flank attacks to the rear of the enemy, in order to sink the enemy aircraft carrier, can be many times more successful. Three dual missile batteries can be equipped with any available missile. A total of 6 to 18 missiles can be launched, depending on your chosen arsenal! That's more than enough to overwhelm the air defenses of any available ship. It makes sense to try and hunt down an enemy submarine, thanks to the grenade launchers and the main feature of any shield ship - ignoring torpedoes while moving. Unless, of course, they're the kind of torpedoes that detonate without directly hitting the target.
All in all, the new ekranoplan will be a great addition to your collection of ships, giving fun and active gameplay even not the most experienced commanders, and in certain weapon configurations under the control of an experienced player it will become a truly formidable weapon!
