HMS Vanguard (S28) is coming soon
Very soon, a guest from Foggy Albion will appear in the waters of Modern Warships (MW) — the British submarine HMS Vanguard (S28), capable of unleashing a veritable rain of fire on its enemies!
HMS Vanguard (S28) is a nuclear submarine of the Royal Navy, equipped with ballistic missiles and modern torpedoes. It is the lead ship of its class and the backbone of the British nuclear deterrent. Thanks to stealth technology, it remains extremely difficult to detect. Its nuclear reactor gives it high speed, and in combat conditions, it is a powerful tool capable of delivering a devastating blow.

Armament:
1. UGM-133 Trident II Holbrook missile battery [1x1]🔒
2. UGM-133 Trident II Holbrook missile battery [1x1]🔒
3. UGM-133 Trident II missile battery [1x1]
4. UGM-133 Trident II missile battery [1x1]
5. UGM-133 Trident II missile battery [1x1]
6. Spearfish torpedo launcher (533 mm) [2x1]
New additions:
UGM-133 Trident II Holbrook — British submarine-launched ballistic missile with a Holbrook nuclear warhead, developed based on its American counterpart. It has increased range and maximum flight speed, as well as a faster reloading system, making it more effective than the original model.

Characteristic features in combat
Pros:
1. Ballistic missiles allow you to hit targets at long ranges while remaining outside the enemy's direct fire zone.
2. A combined salvo of the entire arsenal (fully upgraded) can, if not immediately destroy an already damaged enemy, then at least inflict devastating damage.
3. The exclusive UGM-133 Trident II Holbrook ballistic missiles have one of the best damage per minute ratings in their subclass.
Cons:
1. Limited air supply forces you to surface more often, which increases the risk of being detected and attacked.
2. Lack of anti-ship missiles: armament is limited to ballistic missiles, and in close combat, the submarine can only rely on torpedoes.

Gameplay
The appearance of the new British submarine in the game coincides with the heyday of its class thanks to the introduction of ASW. This defines its gameplay: the player is not a stealthy hunter sneaking up on its target, but a full-fledged underwater missile cruiser capable of attacking any target from a safe distance, regardless of its position on the map.
The optimal tactic for the game boils down to firing from behind cover, which perfectly matches the ballistic trajectory of the missiles and allows you to deliver powerful strikes while remaining safe. Even if there are few cover points on the map, you can occupy a strategically useful corner of the map and begin to destroy the enemy, turning the advantage of long-range fire into a significant superiority on the battlefield. This style of play gives you control over the situation, allowing you to choose the moment of attack and significantly reduce the risk of a counterattack. It is undesirable to start the battle right from the starting point—even when firing from under water, enemy aircraft will quickly detect the boat. It is also important not to let the enemy get too close: due to the characteristics of the arsenal, the possibilities for close combat are very limited. Torpedoes will, of course, help you resist, but at best they will simply prevent the enemy from leaving the battle intact, rather than completely neutralizing the threat.
HMS Vanguard (S28) is a prime example of a submarine missile carrier with all the inherent advantages and disadvantages. In the hands of an experienced player, this submarine becomes a powerful tool of pressure, instilling fear in the entire enemy team. However, it requires a careful approach, as it does not easily forgive carelessness and mistakes in battle.
