CN Type 039C is cooming soon
A new underwater predator will soon appear in Modern Warships (MW) — the Chinese CN Type 039C submarine, capable of quickly and ruthlessly destroying any enemy with a barrage of torpedoes.
The CN Type 039C is a modern Chinese Yuan-class submarine equipped with the latest hydroacoustic technologies that ensure low noise levels. An enlarged oxygen tank compartment allows it to perform long underwater operations. In addition to additional torpedo launchers, this modification is equipped with a new echo-free coating, which further reduces its detectability by enemy aircraft and surface ships.
Let's learn more about it!

Armament:
- YU-10/039C torpedo launcher [1x1]🔒
- YU-10/039C torpedo launcher [1x1]🔒
- Yu-7 torpedo launcher (324 mm) [1x1]
- Yu-7 torpedo launcher (324 mm) [1x1]
- Yu-7 torpedo launcher (324 mm) [1x1]

Overall, the new submarine's arsenal is an optimal means of conducting classic torpedo attacks without the possibility of relying on modern missile weapons. This simple but no less effective approach reflects the continuation of the original concept of using submarine forces, characteristic of the early stages of development of this type of warship. However, it is worth noting the two single slots with exclusive YU-10/039C torpedoes, which are resistant to anti-torpedo traps. In addition to these, the arsenal includes three freely customizable single slots with Yu-7 torpedoes.

How to play on the new Chinese submarine?
Pros:
- Ability to use all weapons from underwater.
- Largest torpedo arsenal in terms of number of slots.
- Fastest torpedoes (YU-10/039C) in its class.
- Ability to evade some enemy torpedoes due to its small size and good maneuverability.
Cons:
- No missile armament.
- Low durability compared to similar ships in its class.
Overall, the gameplay on the CN Type 039C will be familiar to many commanders who have previously played the RF Barrakuda (945) and JS Taigei—due to its small size and good maneuverability, it can rapidly approach enemy ships underwater and launch massive torpedo attacks, thereby inflicting significant damage on the enemy team and distracting their attention. This gives the allied team an advantage in breaking through the line of defense during a sluggish battle. The best tactic for using the new Chinese submarine would be to swim under the bottom of an unlucky enemy and methodically attack them in a vulnerable position, without worrying about counter-resistance in the form of their grenade launchers, as their aiming angle does not allow them to fire at you.
What is the result?
The new Chinese submarine will allow you to experience the gameplay of a real underwater predator, capable of mercilessly dealing with enemy surface ships and providing uncompromising competition to other analogues in its class.
