New game mode: «Ship racing»
Get ready for tank races in Modern Warships!
Commanders, get ready for the most unpredictable challenge of this spring!
To celebrate April 1, the game is launching the Fool Cup — a special event featuring a brand-new fun mode where familiar battles give way to chaotic naval races. Forget classic sea combat: now you’ll take control of floating war machines, race along checkpoint-based tracks, collide at full speed, and fight for first place all the way to the finish line.
In this mode, victory will go not only to the fastest, but also to the cleverest. Use power-ups, outplay your opponents, seize the perfect moment to attack, and push your way to the front in the most fun and chaotic competition.
Fool Cup Event
The Fool Cup will run from April 1 to April 6. The centerpiece of the event is the new Ship Racing mode, where players will compete against each other in thrilling naval races.
- Progress through the event stages to earn ducks and useful consumables.
- You can also get extra ducks for your first 10 battles each day in Ship Racing mode.
- Collect as many ducks as you can and exchange them in the event shop for ships, vehicles, and other valuable rewards!
- The selection in the event shop changes every day.
- You can also purchase additional duck bundles and a booster to earn event points faster.
Special offers
As you progress through the Event Pass, special offers will unlock, allowing you to purchase rare vehicles at a major discount. These offers include:
- The legendary FB-111A strike aircraft
- The legendary Tu-142M3M Bear-F bomber
- The legendary Japanese battleship JS Yamato Aegis, complete with a set of themed cosmetic items.
New Mode: «Ship Racing»
In Ship Racing, players take control of unusual combat machines — floating tanks transformed into high-speed racing vessels. Their objective sounds simple at first: make their way through a chain of checkpoints and cross the finish line before anyone else. In practice, however, every race turns into pure chaos, where it’s not enough just to keep up the pace, you also need to know exactly when to disrupt your opponents.
Rules of the Mode
- Each race features 6 players.
- All participants use floating ships tanks with identical stats, so victory depends on skill, timing, and smart use of the tools available.
- Your objective is to pass through the checkpoints in the correct order and reach the finish line before everyone else.
- If your vehicle is destroyed, you will respawn at the last checkpoint you reached and rejoin the race.
- Players can fire at each other and use special power-ups and consumables to gain an edge over their rivals.
- Rewards depend on your final position: the higher you place, the more event points and ducks you earn.
- The mode is available on the following maps: Lost City, Arctic, Stone Peaks
Although Ship Racing is first and foremost a contest of speed, the combat element plays a major role here as well. Each floating tank is equipped with a single weapon that can be used while moving.
What is important to know about shooting:
- shells can ricochet depending on the angle of impact;
- hits can deal critical damage.
Power-Ups and Consumables
During the race, you can collect and use special power-ups and consumables on the track.
-
Heal: restores 25% durability.
Visual: a green glow around the ship. -
Speed: increases speed by 25% for 15 seconds.
Visual: a yellow flame trail behind the ship. -
Kick: a powerful AoE shockwave that pushes back all enemy players nearby.
Visual: an orange wave spreading out from the center of the ship. -
Hack: slows the selected target by 50% for 5 seconds.
Visual: purple interference/glitches on the enemy’s screen and dim purple sparks around the vessel on your screen. -
EMP: disables the target’s ability to turn left or right for 5 seconds.
Visual: blue electric discharges run across the enemy’s hull; the side steering buttons on his display become dimmed.
Heal and Speed affect you immediately when activated as power-ups.
Kick affects all enemy ships within the radius, while Hack and EMP are used on a selected target: aim at an enemy and press the button for the desired consumable.
Take the helm, race through checkpoints, throw your opponents off course, and charge toward the finish line. Over the course of 5 days, you’ll have the chance to prove that you are worthy of the title of champion of the most fun event this spring.
