HMS Type 32 is coming soon!
Modern Warships welcomes HMS Type 32—the new embodiment of British naval greatness. Built on the traditions of the Royal Navy and the engineering achievements of the future, this frigate combines speed, versatility, and precision, turning every battle into an elegant but ruthless duel for control of the seas.
HMS Type 32 is a promising British next-generation frigate. The project focuses on reducing visibility and ensuring high survivability of the platform, combining excellent seaworthiness with modularity, which allows for quick replacement and upgrading of many systems. It was conceived as a multi-purpose “workhorse” for the fleet: capable of operating autonomously, covering a wide range of tasks, and performing confidently in complex environments and in all weather conditions, meeting the requirements of the Royal Navy.
Armament:
- Missile battery (ASM) - SCALP Naval [3x1]
- Cannon MK8 Mod1(155 mm) [2x1]
- Grenade launcher RUR-5B ASROC [2x1]
- Helicopter RAH-66 Comanche [1x1]
- Autocannon CRAW [2x1]🔒
- Autocannon RapidFire LMM T-32 [2x1]🔒
- Air defense Sea Ram [2x1]
- Air defense Dragonfire T-32 [4x1]🔒
- Air defense CAMM-MR [1x1]🔒
Exclusive weapons:
- CRAW is a British anti-torpedo defense system designed to automatically intercept underwater threats. The system effectively detects and destroys torpedoes and underwater vehicles at short ranges, providing an additional level of protection for the ship.
- RapidFire LMM T-32 — a combined anti-aircraft system that combines LMM guided missiles and rapid-fire artillery in a single combat unit. The system independently assesses the threat and switches between missile and cannon weapons to effectively engage air targets at long ranges.
- Dragonfire T-32 is an anti-aircraft system with a directed laser channel that uses an advanced mirror system for increased accuracy. It is designed to engage air targets at close range.
- CAMM-MR is a British anti-aircraft missile system with modern electronics, using a “soft” vertical launch and an active radar homing head. It is designed to combat air threats at long ranges.
Recommendations:
- This ship's module set is designed for a tactic of successive strikes followed by breaking through enemy defenses during battle.
- To improve effectiveness against torpedoes and submarines, it makes sense to replace the standard RUR-5B ASROC grenade launcher with a Type 726-4A, or more promising equivalents from the in-game Market.
- Alternatively, you can strengthen the ship's offensive arsenal by installing a powerful launcher for striking surface targets only, sacrificing some of the effectiveness of anti-torpedo defense. While this option may not suit all captains, it is also worth considering!
Gameplay concept:
The gameplay of this ship involves performing a wide range of combat tasks. These include both active actions on the front line — side by side with large ships — and raiding attacks on the flanks, designed to prioritize the destruction of enemy rear forces (such as aircraft carriers). An effective tactic is the rational use of smoke screens in combat against targets with predominantly missile weapons or aircraft, allowing you to fire from your temporary cover with virtually no risk of retaliation.
So what is the bottom line?
The new British frigate is versatile: in addition to its emphasis on missile weapons, it encourages the alternation of cannons and grenade launchers, allowing for flexible play — from flanking maneuvers to reliable support for allies. Its key advantage is its automatic anti-torpedo systems, which independently detect and destroy torpedoes, as well as effectively engage submarines, significantly increasing overall survivability against underwater threats. As for air defense systems, they are no less effective: although, like any other means, they cannot guarantee to protect the ship from a whole swarm of missiles, they are still capable of intercepting a significant portion of them. As a result, we have a true multi-purpose platform, whose danger to the enemy is determined primarily by the skills of the commander and his tactics.
