This ship is designed in accordance with modern requirements for combat units of its class and is intended to perform a wide range of combat missions, including strike, defensive, and anti-aircraft operations as part of the fleet.
A key element of the ship’s armament is an experimental electromagnetic weapon system—the large-caliber Haiyang Shan railgun with a 203 mm caliber. This weapon represents an advanced development in naval armament, providing the capability to deliver high-precision and devastating strikes against any naval targets at significant distances.
The use of electromagnetic technology allows for extremely high projectile speeds and extended engagement ranges, which, combined with exceptional accuracy, makes this weapon a formidable asset at any stage of battle.
Additionally, the destroyer is equipped with a DF-15B tactical ballistic missile as part of its strike arsenal. This missile system features state-of-the-art navigation systems, including inertial and satellite guidance, as well as laser targeting, ensuring high accuracy when striking tactical enemy important objectives.
The ship is also equipped for auxiliary combat operations. At the stern, there is a helicopter deck with a hangar designed to accommodate and operate a multi-role helicopter, which can be used for reconnaissance, target acquisition, and anti-submarine warfare.
The artillery-based defensive armament consists of two auto-cannons. And it also has two torpedo launchers, providing effective anti-submarine protection.
The ship’s air defense system includes a multi-layered setup with a range of different systems. The PDA modules consist of four and two air-defense gun mounts, positioned strategically for maximum coverage.
Additionally, the destroyer is fitted with the HQ-19 silo-based air defense missile system, capable of eliminating a wide range of aerial threats, including ballistic missiles, aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at various points along their trajectory.
The ship’s comprehensive armament and defense systems ensure high combat effectiveness, allowing it to execute a variety of mission types—including delivering powerful and precise strikes against all kinds of targets, supporting allied forces in strike groups, and conducting anti-air and anti-submarine warfare.
